SCORING THE TESTS

SCORING BY PARENTS:
Parents are encouraged to score their child’s test
on the second day after testing is finished.
Parents should bring:
• A colored pencil or pen • Regular pencil • Calculator • Previous year’s test scores
Please have a plan for your children so you can devote time to scoring.

SCORING BY THE TEACHER:
Parents can have the tests scored by the teacher for an additional $15 per test.

PREPARING YOUR CHILD FOR TESTING
Make sure your child has a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a stress-free morning (as much as possible) before arriving at testing.
This will help them do their best on the test.

WHAT TO BRING?
A pencil or two, eraser, a book or extra paper, healthy snacks and a water bottle.
If parents will be scoring, bring them a lunch to eat during scoring.

REMEMBER: Testing is a snapshot in time of a child's knowledge and abilities.
It can be affected by fatigue, stress, and emotional state at the time of testing.
Most importantly, it does not measure many of the most significant predictors of success, such as character, effort, initiative, creativity, and drive.
A child's performance throughout the year is likely a more important measure
than a single test score.
